How Will Your Ideas Shape the Future?

As our new Distribution Designer, you’ll be an essential part of a team of top-notch specialists who turn ideas into reality for our clients. You’ll be working with a vibrant, multi-disciplinary crew on a variety of projects in Tasmania. Your ideas won’t just be heard—they’ll be celebrated!

Your Role Will Include:

  • Overhead distribution design modelling (415V to 33kV)
  • Underground distribution extensions
  • Underground distribution network upgrades
  • Site inspections including preparation of design packages for client approval
  • Preparation of bills of materials and estimation
  • Training and support of junior team members
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
  • Applying local utility standards
  • Demonstrating design innovation and cost optimization as part of the design process
  • Scoping notes
  • Survey

Your Qualifications and Skills:

  • Advanced Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering; or
  • Demonstrated experience with local power utilities (TasNetworks)
  • Ability to work independently
  • CAD Software proficiency in AutoCAD or AutoCAD Map
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in electrical design of distribution networks

  • Strong electrical design skills, particularly in TasNetworks distribution networks
  • Site experience and experience in projects being constructed and commissioned
  • Proficiency in offering solutions to technical challenges
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including effective influencing, motivation, and delegation skills
  • Ability to work well with others to deliver as a team
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Inquisitive nature and desire to grow your career
