We are excited to share that the Rangebank Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Cranbourne, Victoria, is on the brink of energisation. This 200MW/400MWh project represents a significant leap forward in supporting grid stability and renewable energy integration in the region.
Our dedicated team of engineers at Megavar recently completed critical Partial Discharge (PD) Testing on the 245kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), a key component in ensuring the reliability and safety of the system. Using our state-of-the-art 500kV Phenix resonant frequency Hipot and the Omicron MPD600 PD test system, we conducted rigorous assessments to verify the insulation integrity and operational readiness of the GIS.
This milestone is a testament to Megavar’s commitment to delivering precise, reliable, and innovative testing solutions. As we move closer to energisation, we remain focused on ensuring the highest standards of performance and safety.
