PFISTERER CONNEX grounding and current testing connector Size 1 available for hire from Megavar Australia
Description
The PFISTERER CONNEX grounding and current testing connector, Size 1, performs the same function as the Size 0 unit at a higher current rating of 630 A, with the same 2 kV maximum testing voltage. It is dimensioned for the Size 1 CONNEX interface. Hire it from Megavar where your plant carries the larger socket or the test current exceeds the Size 0 rating. Functionally identical to the Size 0 connector. The connector is inserted into a CONNEX socket of equal size and bolted, and the test lead is connected to the terminal stud with a screw. Selection between Size 0 and Size 1 is driven by the CONNEX interface fitted to the plant and by the test current, not by voltage; both units share the same 2 kV maximum testing voltage. This is a current testing and earthing connector and is not rated for medium voltage withstand or insulation testing.
  • Bolted connection into a CONNEX socket of matching size
  • Terminal stud with screw connection for the test lead
  • Suitable for current testing on switchgear, transformers and transducers
  • Connection thread 1 x M12
  • Rated for indoor and outdoor use, minus 25 to plus 50 degrees Celsius

Frequently Asked Questions
PFISTERER CONNEX Grounding and Current Testing Connector (Size 1) for Hire

What is the PFISTERER CONNEX grounding and current testing connector, Size 1, used for?

It performs the same job as the Size 0 unit, a bolted current injection and earthing point through a CONNEX socket, on plant fitted with the Size 1 CONNEX interface. Typical uses are primary injection, current ratio checks and earth bond measurement on switchgear, transformers and transducers.

Nominal current 630 A and a maximum testing voltage of 2 kV, per PFISTERER datasheet 827 181 011. It weighs 1.3 kg, extends 45 mm outside the socket and has a 95 mm pitch circle diameter.

Interface size and current rating. Size 0 fits a Size 0 CONNEX socket and is rated 250 A; Size 1 fits a Size 1 socket and is rated 630 A. Both share the same 2 kV maximum testing voltage and the same M12 terminal stud.

No. It is a current testing and earthing connector with a 2 kV maximum testing voltage. Withstand and insulation testing on CONNEX plant uses the Size 2 or Size 3 test and transition connector, rated 42 kV maximum system voltage.

Yes. It is rated for indoor and outdoor use from minus 25 to plus 50 degrees Celsius ambient.

The PFISTERER CONNEX grounding and current testing connector, Size 1, article number 827 181 011, with its protective cap where supplied. If your site carries both Size 0 and Size 1 interfaces, hire both units together and tell us the switchgear make and model so the right sizes go out first time.
