Megavar engineers use this unit on commissioning projects across Australia. Hire it from a team that knows it inside out.
All Megavar test equipment is maintained under a documented calibration programme. Instruments are calibrated either by external calibration laboratories or in-house against reference standards that are themselves laboratory-calibrated, with measurement traceable to Australian national measurement standards held by the National Measurement Institute. A current calibration certificate is available on request. If your project requires a specific calibration interval, test standard, or documentation for a client submission, tell us at enquiry on 1300 730 499 and we will confirm what applies before you commit.
Have a setup or application question about this instrument? Talk directly to a Megavar commissioning engineer — no call centre, no guesswork.
It is used to measure the dissipation factor (tan delta) and capacitance of insulation systems in high-voltage equipment. These tests provide valuable information about insulation ageing, moisture, and contamination.
A high or rising tan delta value typically indicates dielectric losses due to ageing, water ingress, or contamination in insulation systems.
You can test power transformers, bushings, rotating machines, power cables, and other high-voltage assets during commissioning or scheduled maintenance.
Yes. The CP + TD1 is specifically designed to work with the OMICRON CPC 100, with full integration into the PTM software for test automation and reporting.
If testing grounded components like motors or bushings. Grounded specimen testing (UST and GST modes) is performed using the CP TD1’s integrated test methods. The CP CU1 is not used for tan delta; it is a coupling unit for line and earth grid impedance measurements with the CPC 100.
Yes. The CP + TD1 is housed in a rugged, lightweight enclosure and designed for use in substations and industrial plants.
The rental includes the CP TD1 unit, reference capacitor, HV test and ground leads, software licence, and transport case. CU1 unit available on request.
Yes. We offer remote support throughout your hire including help with setup, test execution, and interpreting results.
