Description
The MPD 600 is a modular, high-precision partial discharge (PD) measuring system developed by OMICRON for insulation testing and condition assessment in high-voltage equipment. Designed for use during factory testing, onsite commissioning, and routine maintenance, it detects and analyses PD activity in cables, transformers, GIS, switchgear, rotating machines, and bushings. With advanced noise suppression, time-domain and phase-resolved analysis, and compliance with IEC 60270, the MPD 600 allows reliable measurements even in noisy substation environments. It can be configured for one or multiple channels and is compatible with external coupling capacitors like the MCC210.

Calibration

All Megavar test equipment is maintained under a documented calibration programme. Instruments are calibrated either by external calibration laboratories or in-house against reference standards that are themselves laboratory-calibrated, with measurement traceable to Australian national measurement standards held by the National Measurement Institute. A current calibration certificate is available on request. If your project requires a specific calibration interval, test standard, or documentation for a client submission, tell us at enquiry on 1300 730 499 and we will confirm what applies before you commit.

What the MPD 600 is used for?

The MPD 600 is a modular partial discharge measurement system used to assess insulation condition in high-voltage assets: cables and accessories, switchgear, transformers and rotating machines. Fibre-optically isolated acquisition units make it suited to multi-channel, synchronous PD measurement in electrically noisy substation environments.
