Megavar engineers use this unit on commissioning projects across Australia. Hire it from a team that knows it inside out.
All Megavar test equipment is maintained under a documented calibration programme. Instruments are calibrated either by external calibration laboratories or in-house against reference standards that are themselves laboratory-calibrated, with measurement traceable to Australian national measurement standards held by the National Measurement Institute. A current calibration certificate is available on request. If your project requires a specific calibration interval, test standard, or documentation for a client submission, tell us at enquiry on 1300 730 499 and we will confirm what applies before you commit.
Have a setup or application question about this instrument? Talk directly to a Megavar commissioning engineer — no call centre, no guesswork.
The MPD 600 is a modular partial discharge measurement system used to assess insulation condition in high-voltage assets: cables and accessories, switchgear, transformers and rotating machines. Fibre-optically isolated acquisition units make it suited to multi-channel, synchronous PD measurement in electrically noisy substation environments.
Typical hire scenarios: commissioning tests on new HV cable circuits, PD surveys during planned outages, and factory or site acceptance testing where a calibrated, IEC 60270 capable system is specified. Hire the system alone, or with a Megavar test engineer to run the measurement and report against acceptance criteria.
The system complies with IEC 60270, the international standard for partial discharge testing.
The MPD 600 can be used on power transformers, GIS, bushings, cables, rotating machines, and other HV insulation systems during commissioning, routine diagnostics, or type testing.
Yes. It has advanced filtering, gating, and noise suppression capabilities that make it suitable for testing in substations and other environments with electrical interference.
Yes. The MPD Suite software allows real-time visualisation of PRPD, time-domain, and statistical PD patterns, with built-in tools for defect classification and reporting.
It requires appropriate coupling devices such as the MCC210 100 kV coupling capacitor, HFCTs, or external sensors. These are available separately or bundled.
Yes. The MPD 600 is modular and housed in compact units with durable field cases, suitable for on-site and lab environments.
The rental includes the MPD 600 units, fibre optic and BNC cables, software licence, test accessories, and transport case. Optional items include coupling capacitors and sensors depending on your test scope.
Yes. We offer full technical support including guidance on test setup, system configuration, and PD interpretation.
The minimum hire is 3 days. Weekly and monthly rental rates are available for longer testing projects.
Submit your rental request online, and our team will respond promptly with availability, pricing, and expert advice.
Once confirmed, we’ll quickly process your booking and dispatch the equipment. Delivery and collection can be arranged to suit your schedule.
