It’s used to accurately measure test voltages or currents during earth grid tests where an injected signal (usually 55–60 Hz) is applied. It ensures readings reflect the injected signal only—not background power system noise.
Power system environments are electrically noisy. The 4025E isolates and measures only the test signal frequency, avoiding measurement errors from harmonics, switching noise, or nearby live equipment.
